1. Information We Collect

When you use Rise ("the Service"), we collect information you provide directly, including your name, email address, and Google account data you authorize us to access (Gmail messages, Calendar events, and associated metadata).

We also collect usage data such as feature interactions, device information, and log data to improve the Service.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Provide the Service: Sync your Gmail and Calendar data, generate AI-powered highlights, summaries, and suggested actions.
• Improve the Service: Analyze usage patterns to fix bugs and develop new features.
• Communicate: Send service-related notices such as security alerts or account updates.

3. Google User Data

Rise accesses Google user data solely to provide its core functionality. Specifically:

• Gmail data (messages and metadata) is used to surface highlights, generate summaries, and draft reply suggestions.
• Calendar data (events and metadata) is used to display your schedule, generate prep notes, and surface scheduling conflicts.

We do not use Google user data for advertising purposes. We do not sell, lease, or share Google user data with third parties except as necessary to provide the Service (e.g., sending data to our AI provider for processing). Google user data is retained only as long as necessary to provide the Service and is deleted upon account disconnection or deletion.

4. AI Processing

Rise uses third-party AI models to analyze your email and calendar data. This processing occurs server-side. AI providers process data according to their own data handling agreements and do not retain your data for model training purposes.

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in secure, encrypted databases hosted by Supabase. OAuth tokens are stored encrypted at rest. All data transmission occurs over TLS. We implement row-level security policies to ensure users can only access their own data.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

• Infrastructure providers (Supabase, Vercel) that host and run the Service.
• AI providers that process content to generate highlights and summaries.
• Legal authorities when required by law or to protect our rights.

7. Your Rights

You can:

• Disconnect your Google account at any time, which stops data syncing.
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us.
• Revoke Rise's access via your Google Account permissions.

8. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account or disconnect a service, associated data is deleted within 30 days. Aggregated, anonymized data may be retained indefinitely.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or an in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
